The Complements of the Season to you all, and in particularly to my
American cousins, 2001 has been a year of shattered hopes. However
I am a born optimist: all negatives in my life have been forerunners
for greater positives.
One of the positives of only working five or six hours a day is
that you have time to meditate on all sorts of things. Since the
11th September tragic happenings in America; 'the world will never
be the same again': has been said often by wiser minds than mine.
Yet even here I see a lot of positive things happening in the world:
things that are going to make the world a far better place.
This particular essay is written with my 'American cousins' very
much in mind. There are two reasons for focusing on Americans: firstly
and foremost, I guess, I want some Americans at least to purchase
and read my book, 'The Specialist Chick Sexer'.
There is a chapter about the early America chick sexers in the book.
The founders of the American Chick Sexing Association, Mr. S. John
Nitta, and his son David, have contributed material for the book.
Of the Americans who have purchased my book and made comments,
all speak well of it. While good for my ego, it is the many people
from all over the world who so willing gave so freely of their time
and material that made the book the success that it is. I was just
privileged to put it all together.
The other reason I would like the book to sell well in the USA
goes a lot deeper. It goes back to two small boys, brothers, during
the Second World War; Australia and Australians were much poorer
then. A gift of two ice creams to the two small boys as they stood
gazing at those 'rich American Soldiers' was an act of kindness
that those two small boys never forgot. The soldier gave an ice
cream to each of us and was gone: even before the two startled small
boys could say thank you.
In reflection, here on a life as a chick sexer, my first contact
with American generosity, and the recent terrorist bombing on the
11th September; I see at least one positive outcome of September
tragedy. There are more people in the world today that respect America
and Americans than at any time in America's history.
Again I wish everyone the complements of the Season and a Prosperous
and Peaceful life in 2002 and beyond.
