![]() A view of the driveway between the pens: all traffic: feeding, collecting eggs and removal of the birds and cleaning of the pens was all carried out from the doors shown here and the end of each pen. Originally the birds were allowed out in yards between the pens, an idea copied from Carter Brother's farm. But later it was found that better results were obtained by keeping te birds contained inside the pens. Note the cat in the driveway: the 25,000 bird farm had about 20 cats that lived in the pens or in the grass yards between the pens, this was very effective in keeping the farm vermon free. |
