Carter Brothers of Werribee, Victoria, Australia. One of the largest, if not the largest, poultry farms in the world from about 1928 -1956. (1) Roland Cater's farm 60,000 birds. (3) John Carter's farm 60,000 birds. (3) and the original farm (4) both owned by Walter & James Carter. the total number of birds on the four farms was approximately 250,000 birds, all white leghorns. Carters hatched all their own replaced chickens: there is a very interesting passage about their hatchery and various incubators over the years in R.D.Martin's book 'The Specialist Chick Sexer' . Bob Martin sexed chickens for John Carter for a number of years, and used several of the Carter inovations on his own poultry farm.
